Meanwhile, islanders too may sometimes seem\nat a loss, not so much in terms of where they are as who they are,\nwhether Scottish, or Scandinavian, or something that is neither of\nthe two.\nGeographical and cultural location, belonging and tensions between\nlocal and national interests are discussed by the author in relation\nto several contested issues, ranging from landscape management\nand nature conservation to place branding and island stereotypes,\nwith the overall purpose of investigating where people in this group\nof islands currently ‘are’ in relation to questions of landscape and\nidentity. In this context, the thesis also highlights some aspects of\nthe interconnectedness of these concepts from different theoretical\nperspectives as well as when expressed and enacted in the course of\neveryday life.\nThe present study, which is distinctly place specific in character, is\nset against a backdrop of devolved power structures, nation building\nand the upcoming referendum on Scottish independence.","brand":"Stockholm University","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":32443357593700,"sku":"9789187235368","price":16.95,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"url":"https:\/\/suomalainen-test.myshopify.com\/products\/a-place-apart-debating-landscapes-and-identities-in-the-shetland-islands","provider":"Suomalainen Test","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
