This\nstudy explores the meeting of these two apparently conflicting\nphenomena by inquiring into how a specific piece of\nstandardised information, namely the standard for bystander\ncardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), is configured in the\npractices of lifesaving and bystander CPR-training. In pursuits\nof making the standard an intervention to be carried out\nby the lay public, it is linked to technologies, hopes and\naspirations. In these activities other configurations of lifesaving\nand resuscitation than that delineated by the standard appear.\nThe ways in which information features and informing\nhappens in these pursuits are diverse and shown to have\nimplications for the shaping of lay rescuers. This study\nconsequently raises questions about how standardised\ninformation is configured in practices and how diverse ways\nin which informing happens in practice are associated with\ndifferent forms of governance.\nKarolina Lindh, Department of Art and Cultural Sciences Lund\nUniversity.
